Intro to Sketch Writing
A beginner’s guide to sketch comedy. This will explore some of the basics of the form, and examine all the tools you need to generate ideas, write them down and get them on their feet.
advanced sketch writing
In this workshop we’ll explore a huge variety of writing techniques to help you find your personal comedy voice, and create a body of sketch comedy work you can be proud of.
sketch performance 101
Sketch isn’t just about writing! Once the jokes are on the page, now they gotta hit the stage! In this workshop we’ll explore how to take your sketch to the next level by creating a theatrical element that complements the writing in interesting - and hilarious - ways.
Sketch performance 201: Building the show
Performing a show is so much more than playing the sketches, your show order speaks volumes too to the ebb and flow of the audiences’ laughter. This workshop will teach you how to recognize show order, develop set-lists and drop those dead pauses.
Character masterclass
In this workshop, we will learn how to create character, develop character and keep your comedy face at home.
improv in sketch
A full workshop dedicated to how to utilize the techniques of improvisation in a sketch comedy context. We’ll help you use the improv toolkit to write sketches, improve already written work, and add the element of unpredictability to your scenes.
Creating short sketch videos is a whole different skill set, as you basically have to know how to make a short film. that is funny. We’ll teach you the basics of the process - including shot composition, lighting and editing - and how they apply to creating filmed comedy.
